Hampshire (Basingstoke) Patoss is a lively group of teachers, tutors, learning support staff and assessors in North Hampshire. We offer opportunities for affordable continuing professional development through termly meetings with respected speakers.
These can inform your classroom practice working with students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and other SpLDs and contribute to the renewal of your Practising Certificate.
We offer resources for hire, networking opportunities, such as assessors’ forum, and occasional specialist book stalls. Please contact Patricia Dale at patossbasingstoke@hotmail.com if you wish to join our Hampshire group – there is no fee for local membership. You do not need to be a member to book for a webinar.

Could you be an event co-ordinator? Many hands make light work – this would suit a ‘job share’ with individuals contacting one speaker per year, for example – and following through with managing that presentation and e-mail follow-up. Anyone with a professional interest in Specific Learning Difficulties is welcome at our open CPD meetings. This includes class teachers, SENCOs, head teachers, specialist assessors, learning support assistants, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, speech and language specialists and behavioural optometrists. Valuable contacts can be made and the talks are applicable to age ranges through primary to secondary and tertiary.

We have a small Forum group to enable Assessors to discuss the practicalities of using and interpreting tests – particularly new or modified products. Meetings are held in a private house in the Basingstoke area or online.
